Ametystová geoda (polished) – Uruguay

Amethyst geodes are among the most popular and impressive gemstones. They form inside cavities in volcanic rocks that gradually fill with mineral solutions rich in silica and other elements. During long geological processes, crystals of amethyst - a purple variety of quartz - form in these cavities. Amethysts from Uruguay are sought after worldwide for their extraordinary richness and depth of purple colour. Their crystals are often smaller and densely arranged, emphasizing the intensity of the hue and the distinctive brilliance.

Appearance and characteristics

Sorting by quality

Amethyst geodes are often referred to by several grades of quality.

Grade C - Amethyst geode with a visibly purple colour and less intense hue, the crystals may have minor irregularities. This grade is the most affordable.

Grade B - Geode with medium to dark purple colour, relatively uniform tonality, shiny and reasonably clean crystals. It offers a balanced price/quality ratio.

Grade A - Distinguished by its deep, rich purple color and strong luster crystals that are nearly flawless. These are often pieces with distinctive, evenly spaced crystals that represent a collectible standard.

Extra grade (the highest possible quality, representing the absolute top of the range to be found on the market) - The finest quality geodes with exceptionally intense colour, high lustre and perfectly developed crystals. These are often rare or aesthetically extraordinary pieces that are ideal for collections or as an exclusive design element.
