The idea for the one-of-a-kind Vortex Drop cut came to our cutter in a dream, inspired by the work of the renowned gemstone master Andrew Brown. The original design had 151 facets, but was later refined to achieve an even more dramatic effect. In the dream, he saw a moldavite whose facets spiraled into a dynamic vortex of energy, encased within the stone.
Upon waking, this image wouldn’t leave him, so he began developing his own design. He drew on Brown’s precise techniques but added his personal touch—adjusting proportions and facet arrangement to create a sense of depth and rotating light. The result is the Vortex Drop, a masterpiece with 187 facets that reflects both the power of nature and the artistry of gem cutting.
Additionally, this faceted moldavite is unique for its abundance of tiny bubbles that form a kind of starry sky and swirling inclusions reminiscent of a cosmic nebula.
