Gujba

The Gujba meteorite is a rare carbonaceous chondrite of the CBa group known as bencubbinite. It impacted on 3 April 1984 near the village of Bogga Dingare in Yobe State, Nigeria. The fall was described by witnesses as a bright fireball moving from west to east, followed by an explosion. The meteorite landed in a maize field, where it was broken into several pieces by the local inhabitants, who took them as talismans. The exact original mass of the meteorite is unknown, but it is estimated to be approximately 100 kg.
