The Junction City meteorite is an ordinary L5 class chondrite that impacted on September 26, 2022 near Junction City, Georgia, USA. At 00:04 local time, a bright bolide was observed over southern Georgia, exploding between the cities of Atlanta and Columbus. The event was recorded by the network cameras, allowing the approximate area of impact to be quickly determined. The first fragment weighing 91 grams was found on 27 September 2022, approximately 5.5 km northeast of Junction City.
