Omolon is a rare pallasite meteorite whose fall was observed in May 1981 in what is now the Magadan region of Russia, near the Omolon River. It is one of only four pallasites in the world whose fall to Earth was directly observed, making it an exceptionally valuable object for scientific research.

This meteorite belongs to the main group of pallasites, which are composed of olivine crystals embedded in an iron-nickel metal matrix. The vivid coloration of the olivines, combined with the characteristic metal structure, makes Omolon a highly prized specimen among collectors.

Its discovery was significant not only because of its documented fall but also due to its unique composition. The total weight of the recovered fragments is estimated to be approximately 250 kg, with the largest piece weighing around 127 kg.
