The Imilac meteorite was found in 1822 in the Atacama Desert in Chile, with a total mass of approximately 920 kg. It is one of the very rare iron-rock meteorites, specifically Pallasites, which make up only 1% of the rocks that fall from space to the Earth's surface. It is one of the most beautiful and popular pallasites in the world.

Imilac contains a huge number of large olivine crystals set in an iron-nickel matrix, which adds to its aesthetic value and makes it popular among collectors. The olivine crystals in the Imilac meteorite have a unique translucency and subtle yellow tinge compared to other pallasites. These crystals are known for their high stability and resistance to corrosion, which contributes to their long-term preservation.
